You should probably call USCIS to see what is going on ?
Reciept Notices should be sent immideatly as soon as they recieve the application. If it has been that long, I would recommend calling them and see what the hell is going on.
I did not get my reciept notices too. Luckily, I had the reciept numbers from the back of my checks. I called and found out that they were sent to the wrong address. I immideatly corrected my address online.

Yes, most of the states are going to implement it. It is allready existing in P.A. and I know atleast 2 people who's friends picks/drops them to work. It's a shame, living in this country for 6 years and suddenly your DL is snatched away. Getting 3 years H1B extensions in all circumstances is on of our main agenda at iv.org please see our brochure in resources section. This will solve atleast some part of the problem.

Both lawyers are right. To get the correct answers you have to be asking correct questions.
If you want to port your priority date to new employer, you have to file PERM and I-140 with new employer. Since you have PERM and I-140 already approved - you can do that.
From the other side, since you already filed your I-485, you don't have to do anything. You don't need your PD ported, just use AC21 and wait for your GC.
The only issue is that you never worked for sponsoring employer, USCIS might want some evidence that you really had/have intent working for him and will demand explanation why you are not working for them and never worked. This issue will disappear if you will refile PERM/I-140 with new employer.

You are right that to get registered in US I would have to marry in US. That's why I was asking if I even need to get it registered in US to file for my green card. Response I got on this forum was Indian registration certificate is fine.
I want to restate that I got my green card on August 9th 2010. So I need to be married prior to this date for my wife to derive her green card status using mine.

I think you will be fine as long as the marriage happened before your 485 got approved - which in your case is true. However, IMO since your wife is not here in US right now, you will need to do file her AOS via consular processing...

I think this is more of ignorance about EAD.

From the information that you have provided, I can tell you that their argument does not hold any water. The same can be said of H1B as well. If they are tracking expiration of H1B, they certainly can do the same for EAD.

1) If the Employee is hired on a valid EAD and later during the course of employment the EAD expired, there is no system in place for them to check back with the employee if (s)he has renewed it in a timely manner.
2) If such an employee that has not renewed their EAD and continued their employment beyond expiration without notifying the employer, the company is worried that they may be legally liable for harboring employees with illegal statuses.
Please help me understand if their concerns are valid and if not what is the remedy.

This This happened to me as well. My AP which was approved in 2005 and has already expired had an LUD today. I have an approved AP in 2006. But my expired 2005 AP had LUD.
In August my I-140 which was approved in 2005 had an LUD. God knows what all this means. My 485 is pending becuase of retrogression.

I'm from Bangladesh and EB3. As you know the I485 was current in July and i applied along with my EAD and AP. but this month in visa bulletin i found that the date went back to 2002. What is the way it suppose to be?
My question is: are they going to consider my application current or i stuck in the backlog. my understanding is that the visa bulletin reflects the availibility to send the application....they received my application on July 2nd, 2007.

Is it not risky to move when your RFE response is pending? I worked for just 2 employers for 9 yrs between 2000 -- 2009
then since March I have so far been with 2 employers and now 3rd PERM offer.. I am concerned if that can create issues..

If thats the case
1) work with your lawyer on AC21 filing. make sure he has done it before and he know what he would be doing.
2) Its good that you have already talked to your new employer about the GC letter.
3) More than likely your RFE would be related to medical. Thats what the trend is these days. If thats indeed the case get your medical exam stuff.
4) Along with your medical RFE keep the AC21 papers as well.

Many of them were follow-to-join cases where the cases were filed after primary beneficiary got the greencard and they still use the 2001 PD. There are many such cases pending for consular processing. Though USCIS I-485 inventory only suggests 1100 cases before Dec 2001, there could be hundereds or even thousands pending in field offices or consular posts, hence EB-3 I dates aren't moving either.

Last week I had the unfortunate experience of being "let go". This is my current situation:

Now the question I have is, if I were to transfer my H1-B visa to some other company (non consulting fulltime role), will I get an additional 3 years extension, i.e., till Oct 2013 or will it be only till May 2013?

The AA battery holder is for LAST RESORT use only. It was never designed for continous use. If you did it would get very expensive very quickly.
You didn't say what kind of batteries. If they were Ni-Cads or NiMH, they only supply 1.2 volts. The D100 requires 1.5 volts.
Also, you might try mounting a newer AF lens to it just to see if its the older lens. Hopefully the lens you used isn't pre-1977. If so, you may have damaged the body.

I am in the same boat as your spouse. I am on H4. Just today I got a very harsh reply from an attorney saying that I cannot volunteer in any way that is related to my field ( I am an IT pro) even in a non-profit organization. I am little bit upset after this episode because I wanted to volunteer for a non-profit Org.
In the land of opportunities I don't have opportunity even to volunteer in a non-profit organization to keep in touch with my subject. First time I realized that I am living in a prison.
Don't take my word. Consult an attorney because H4 holder volunteering in one's own field is illegal it seems. Wish you all the best.
