I don't have the I-797A's I-94 which was attached to the bottom since I had to submit that in Jan 2009 when I'd visited India and come back to the US with H1-B stamping. I do have a copy of this I-797A's I-94...would giving this copy be better than not providing any at all? Thanks, Vick

I am a 7/27 filer and my checks got cashed on Friday. So, do not worry there are a lot of people who have not got their notices.

People accepting money are not Mother Teresa or Registered Charity. In this country all kinds of people call you, email you and ask you for money for all kinds of reasons. Greed happens in tragic events too. Do not expect everyone in this world to have a pure heart. This case is genuine but we need better management and disclosure on their website. This is a least you can expect from educated University Students.

If you have EAD and have stayed in this country for some years, why don't you try to get unemployment benifits by going to the county office. Secondly, there are more people in this country like you who had lost the job. check the welfare section and check for foodstamps. There is no reason to run back to your country. Face this oppurunity rather than running back.
I would advise you to save money for the flight ticket and other expenses as cash in hand and go to the county for help. Use your rights. In the worst case go back to your country.
If you wish to go out of US for 3-4 years, the best thing to do is close the accounts. If you don't have direct deposit of your paychecks in your account you would need to pay account maintenance fee. I paid 10 dollars as account maintenance fee for 6 months.

Very well said. Nancy Pelosi was very assiduous in bringing a resolution on Armenian Genocide that happenned over 100 years ago!! So, she may NOT have time to work on "Current" world matters!

I dont know about you but I certainly don't enjoy the daily grind of "When will I get GC?", BTW Raghunathrao was one of the bravest Maratha warriors of his time, albeit misguided :(

- Got wife's maiden name changed when I lost her passport... couple of years back. Recollect it took ~a week.
- Present Indian immigration statuc: ECNR, etc. - check your password. It should be ECNR if you've travelled this far... :)
- 16).Alien registration card number/Employment registration card number_____ (i dont have any of these numbers)
Don't recollect needing any of the above numbers.
- In our case, it was new passport in lieu of lost passport.
If you get in early (i.e. before they close for lunch, but preferably as soon as they open) they'll help you out with all that - generally nice & friendly folks in CGI.

And also i would want to ask some doubts in filling the application if u have already done this.None of them respond properly over phone from CGI.And by mail they are not answering appropriately.

I am conflicted about Dream.
On the one hand, if it passes, the illegal community is pacified for the short term and if legal immigration is taken up immediately, they will not oppose us.
On the other, if it does not pass, we might have to wait for CIR or whatever else. Neither Republicans nor Democrats care to sponsor a bill just for our issues. They will continue to talk about amnesty vs enforcement.
Unless of course, we as a community step up, meet with lawmakers repeatedly, get them to take our issue seriously............

I don't agree with what mbawa2574 has to say,but I certainly disagree banning mbawa for expressing views. I think, mbawa2574 is well within limits of posting anything that could hurt IV image/goals. ( On this thread, I mean).
